I don't know much about history but..

I was reading this article on World War II and this dunno what country (it was in Chinese) was like under siege by German for almost a year.

The workers in that country get 250g of bread a day while the residents get only 120g. The streets were filled with corpses of people who died from hunger.

It was November and this truck full of fresh bread was heading towards the camp. The bread was for the injured soliders.

It got hit by a bomb. The driver died and all the bread fell onto the ground.

The smell of fresh bread attracted all the residents. They approached the truck and picked up the bread. Slowly and steadily, they swept the dust off the bread and put it back onto the truck. Then, they guarded the truck until the next truck came and took away the bread.

Once the truck had left, 2 people passed out. None of them had taken the bread.
